Resumo

General presentation on how digital preservation issues are being faced in the United States of America. Special reference to the National Digital Information Infrastructure and Preservation Program, that is found at the Library of Congress, and aims to implement a national strategy for the long-term preservation of digital content.

Deanna Marcum

Mestre em Library Science e doutorada em American Studies. Directora do Public Service and Collection Management, na Biblioteca do Congresso, foi membro do Council on Library and Information Resources (1980-1989) do qual foi vice-presidente, sendo actualmente presidente do Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR), resultante da fusão da Commission on Preservation and Access e do Council on Library Resources.
